Clash: Bigg and Zanka Flow Split the Moroccan Scene

2007

Casablanca & Tangier

The heaviest clash in Moroccan rap kicked off with l3arbé from Zanka Flow. In one of their tracks, l3arbé took a jab at Bigg’s album. At that time, Zanka Flow, a key player in the northern underground rap scene, had already collaborated with Bigg on a feature. Similarly, Bigg had Muslim featured on his album Mgharba Tal Moute.
Bigg fired back, calling Zanka Flow “weak soldiers” dressed in fake military gear. This got the whole Zanka Flow crew, including Muslim, riled up. They hit back, saying they had inspired Bigg and even mentioned how he used to come to Tangier to hang out with them and get free beats.
The clash split the Moroccan rap scene into two camps: the north, rallying behind Zanka Flow, and the south, supporting Bigg.
